I have been teaching English for almost ten years now in a binational center and some superior education institutions. As a Foreign Language Instructor to students of all ages, I have had great results in helping learners achieve their goals because in my classes they are the centre which means that they learn collaboratively, they express themselves freely and they feel engaged with their processes. Besides, my methodology is communicative because I design classes with realistic and authentic situations. For example, in a class about plastic pollution, students can analyse the plastic used at home, in their local area, and the impact it has on their lives and the whole world, and to do so they are exposed to reading, listening, writing, and speaking activities. I also use task-based approaches to engage students in activities that have relevant and appealing outcomes. Using the same example of plastic, students can research the impact it has on the oceans and come up with an online campaign to make people aware of the situation. By making learners feel at ease in my classes, they feel more aligned with their own processes and they feel part of a collective. In terms of Spanish, I have taught some private classes with clear objectives, the same methodology, and measurable results. To sum up, I am an enthusiastic teacher who will work hard to motivate and help students learn English or Spanish in a meaningful manner.
