Hi, I’m Kiko! I am a university students at UCL, so yes I am young, but I have tutored primary children for 2 years now. I, myself, have always been in international schools growing up, thus, I completed the International Baccalaureate (IB) but have also done the GCSEs.

When tutoring, first and foremost, I aim to understand my students optimal method of learning to be able to adapt my lessons to their needs. Personally, I was always a very visual learner, so I try to incorporate interactive and visual ways of learning to my lessons too because it’s important for my students to enjoy and want to learn above all. I also think at such a young age training the muscle of memory is a key aspect to developing an adequate learning mindset. So I will always make sure to test my students’ memory of past lessons frequently to make sure that firstly, we are not moving too quickly and not retaining information and secondly, to add a fun challenge to the process of learning.

I do truly believe the reason some people are reluctant when it comes to learning is because either they haven’t found the method that works best for them or they haven’t had a teacher that has inspired them to learn and build an understanding of what they are being taught. This is what I aim to bring to the table, look forward to meeting my new students!
