I have taught English in Korea for more than 19 years. Most of my students ended up getting admitted into one of top 10 universities in Korea and some top-notch U.S. colleges. I have been teaching English to all age groups from elementary school students to high school students. Currently, I am teaching some college students as well. I have a Master's degree in Tesol from New York University and a certificate in Tesol from Columbia University's Teachers College. I utilize authentic language materials for my students. Most importantly, I do my best to assess what my students' language needs are first and ,based on that evaluation, I design my lesson plan along with a proper choice of text book. Since there are 4 major language skills; namely, speaking, reading, listening and writing, I aim to integrate all these skills into my lesson plan so that my students can develop their language skills in more balanced and holistic way. And, I wish to do the same thing for those who want to learn Korean. I have earned a 2nd class teacher's certificate to teach Korean as a foreign language. I will apply the same principle in teaching Korean. In sum, as a bilingual in English and Korean with extensive teaching experience, I hope to contribute to my students' success either in academic pursuits or in job-related endeavors with my utmost efforts.
