My teaching career started as an extracurricular English teacher in a school in Spain where I taught English to 8-12 year old kids. I also have worked as a private tutor for teenagers and adults. Currently, I am a demonstrator at the University of Edinburgh where I teach in different practicals and workshops in a variety of biological science modules.

Flexibility and the capacity to adapt to my students have been my biggest strength in all these experiences. The students decide where they want our lessons to go. We can work on conversation, general Spanish language skills (grammar, writing....) or preparation for official exams.

My language private lessons begin with an initial evaluation which allows me to both, understand the level of the student, and get to know them. I aim to speak in Spanish for the whole session and would like my students to do the same to enhance the learning experience. The materials used during lessons vary depending on the main objective of the student. If the objective is general Spanish skills a text book might be required as I believe it provides a good structure which is visible by the student and also provides support and help when I am not there! However, I will also recommend films to work on, books and music ! So be ready for a full immersion in Spanish culture!!
