As an educator with over twenty years of experience, I like to make my presentations engaging and interactive. I find lecturing to be the least effective method of learning. Instead, I use cutting-edge techniques from learning science. I incorporate principles from the growth mindset to while teaching resilience and sustained grit and effort to accomplish knowledge goals. I have taught several age groups ranging from high school to college to professional school and beyond. Additionally, I instructed numerous judges and attorneys who were practicing law how to be more effective researchers.
My best teaching technique is spaced repetition coupled with a feedback loop of mastery of materials. Most of my former students often remark that they wished they had been taught to become self-regulated learners at a younger age than when they arrive in my law school courses. The skills and tools that I teach students to employ are effective in becoming a better writer and written communicator while developing analytical reasoning skills. These skills allow students to become expert learners by employing and utilizing the best learning science techniques developed by neuroscientists.
Being able to "square my mind" with struggling students has been a skill that I practiced and perfected over the course of my career in higher education at both the college level and law school level. By providing constructive and detailed feedback on problems, I am able to assist students with challenges and make sure they succeed to overcome them with tailored and customized support strategies that meet your unique needs.
