Hello, My name is Yoko. It is nice to meet you.
I have enjoyed teaching Japanese since 2002. Thanks to this job, I have been able to meet many fantastic and interesting people from all over the world: students, artists, business people, lawyers, doctors and so on. I feel pride in helping my students improve their Japanese skills and appreciative in learning from my students and broadening my horizons. At the moment, I am living in Australia. While Japan is my home, it is exciting living in a different culture despite some challenges. I truly understand the importance of improving language skills (for me English), whether for fun, self-improvement or for practical use. I find it extremely satisfying to communicate in a foreign language (English for me) because it opens new opportunities.
My goal is to support my students by being the best teacher I can. Hopefully, this will result in making your connection to Japan a more comfortable, enjoyable and rewarding experience. My focus is to not just build your knowledge and understanding of the Japanese language, but to also help you develop your communication skills and confidence in using Japanese in everyday life.
I hope you can join me!
Experience
Since 2002, I have been teaching Japanese as a qualified Japanese teacher. I taught Japanese to students, business professionals, immigrants and children at Japanese language schools, primary schools, university, companies and local government in Japan. I teach students of all abilities, from beginner to advanced. I moved to Australia in 2019 and am currently working as a Community Development worker as well as a Japanese teacher.
