I am a qualified teacher with 20+ years of teaching experience at universities, state and independent schools in the UK and schools in Taiwan.

My students come from various cultural and language backgrounds. They share the common goal of learning to communicate in Chinese Mandarin effectively. Most of my students have never learned Chinese before, and a few start from intermediate and advanced level.

My lessons are student-centred and structured. I use a wide range of learning materials, such as quizzes, games, songs, news, podcasts, presentations, literature, stories, and videos.

I communicate with students to set targets and get feedback. Culture and language are blended in lessons to enhance learning, cultural understanding and motivation. Cookery, Chinese painting and Chinese calligraphy lessons/workshops or museum trips can be arranged.
