I was involved in a week long event for a festival called "Techfest" that was about developing the idea of STEM and promoting it to young pupils in primary schools. I got assigned the role of a Demonstrator where throughout the week I worked in a team to display an experiment showing all the different steps that shape our Digestive system. This was done through the use of everyday items to keep it simple and easy for children to understand and alongside that I used a presentation that had interactive and fun videos and images that displayed detailed information in a much simplified way. This experience allowed me to understand how to deliver information to young pupil in a simplified manner for them to easily understand.
I have developed further ability to communicate knowledge to younger people through shadowing teachers in my school where I got to provide support for pupils who were confused on questions and needed explanations which I have successfully managed to deliver.
I also got the chance to tutor a pupil at National 5 level who found my teaching helpful and effective which as a result managed to transform his grade performance on most the subjects that they studied at school.
I am looking to build more experience in the field of tutoring as I find it very rewarding and enjoyable and I am looking forward to it and to be able to help out pupils by planning lessons that are interactive and more importantly helpful.
