As a private tutor, I think it's important to adapt to individual needs. Prior to the session, I'll ask you to send me the material you want to cover, and explain whether you have issues with the concept or with its applications. Either way, I believe the best way to teach maths is to learn how to solve problems, as maths makes more sense when approached with a rigorous problem-solving mindset. If you're having issues with, we can work through methods to solve the type of problem you have issues with and I will provide question sets to practice. If you're an A level student or younger, you can come with your homework. If the issue is more conceptual, we will build up the concept from scratch, ensuring you understand the basics before increasing the difficulty. Typically, once we've worked through the ideas together, I will ask you to recap for me - and get to more problem sets. As an engineering student, I find it particularly interesting to apply maths concept to real life - depending on your curiosities, we can also explore this. In the past, I've worked with students aged 7 to 16. Personally, I have taken the SATs and the French Baccalaureat (Filiere S), so I'm quite familiar with these exams formats. I am also in my final year of engineering at UCL, so I can help prepare entering university or with some simple mathematical methods for professionals. Finally, I really like maths ! So if you're here just because you're curious, want to strengthen your skill, or any other reason, don't hesitate to contact me.
