Hello everyone,
My name is Yasir Idris, and I’m delighted to be here with you today. Currently, I’m pursuing a BSc in International Business, Finance, and Economics at the University of Manchester, but my journey in education started long before this. For two years, I had the privilege of serving as a tutor at my old sixth form college, where I taught Math, Arabic, and Economics to students in Years 10 and 11.
Teaching has always been a passion of mine, and my approach is centered around personalization. I believe that every student has a unique way of learning, so I dedicated myself to creating customized lessons and worksheets that catered to their individual needs. Whether it was helping a student master complex math concepts, exploring the intricacies of economic theories, or diving into the richness of the Arabic language, my goal was to make learning both accessible and engaging.
One of the most rewarding aspects of tutoring was witnessing the growth and confidence in my students as they began to grasp difficult subjects. It wasn’t just about passing exams; it was about building a foundation of knowledge and skills that would serve them in the future. This experience not only reinforced my passion for education but also helped me develop key skills in communication, patience, and adaptability—qualities that are crucial in both teaching and any professional environment.
In addition to my academic and teaching experiences, I’ve also gained practical knowledge through internships in customer service, trading, and marketing. These experiences have further sharpened my problem-solving and analytical skills, which I bring into my teaching practice.
I’m passionate about helping students succeed and am excited to continue this journey in education. Thank you for your time, and I look forward to working with you all today.
