Hola! My name is Yasha, and I'm a native Spanish speaker originally from Spain. Having grown up immersed in the language and culture, I bring authentic expertise to my teaching. After moving to the UK, I earned a First-Class Honours degree in BSc Psychology and gained valuable teaching experience. I am passionate about sharing my native language with others and tailoring lessons to suit individual needs. I have tutored Spanish GCSE in the past for two years. Therefore, I have experience in presenting engaging material and using online platform tools to, interact with students in their learning. In the past, I have also delivered 1:1 sessions with children in KS1 to improve their reading and comprehension skills. I have also worked in a Primary School as a teaching assistant of a Year 5 classroom where I supported students in their learning and delivered small group sessions. I am originally from Spain so my style of teaching does involve teaching Castilian Spanish.

I like to summarise my tutoring sessions as fun, friendly and engaging. I would firstly get to know the goals/objectives of my student first and understand what they want to get out of the tutoring sessions. Thus, depending on the student, I would usually start from there and work my way from the very basic knowledge of Spanish towards a higher standard of Spanish that would involve: speaking, reading, listening comprehension and writing.

As mentioned, I have experience tutoring GCSE students, in this case I would work with the student to maximise their learning towards achieving high marks for their reading, speaking, listening and writing GCSE papers. For these students, I will provide worksheets and materials based on their current exam board. I really believe that learning Spanish can be such a big achievement and bring so many opportunities!
