In conjunction with my role as a part-time tutor in architectural and interior design projects, I have seamlessly integrated guidance on portfolio development into my teaching methodology. Drawing from my experience instructing both undergraduate and graduate students, I've tailored discussions and workshops to nurture their skills in crafting compelling portfolios.
My approach involves not only imparting technical expertise in drawing, 3D modeling, and computer-aided design but also fostering a deep understanding of design principles and visual communication. This comprehensive education equips students with the tools necessary to articulate their design concepts effectively within their portfolios.
Furthermore, through specialized workshops, I emphasize the importance of creative model-making and mastering fundamental interior space skills, both of which are essential components of a standout portfolio. By providing hands-on guidance in developing sketch ideas and crafting architectural models by hand, I empower students to showcase their creativity and craftsmanship in their portfolio presentations.
My ongoing pursuit of a PhD in visual culture enriches my ability to instil in students a nuanced understanding of the visual aspects of design. This academic endeavour enables me to delve deeper into the theoretical underpinnings of visual representation, which in turn informs my teaching practice and enhances my capacity to guide students in creating visually compelling portfolios that resonate with audiences and effectively communicate their design visions.
