In my teaching, I prioritize interaction and immersion, using real-life scenarios to enhance comprehension. Beyond grammar and vocabulary, I integrate subtle cultural differences, incorporating literature, films, and contemporary media. For primary school classes, I employ games, group activities, discussions and problem-solving to teach Chinese, fostering an environment where students actively engage. Adult classes include discussions on cultural phenomena, vocabulary relevant to daily life, and insights into contemporary China.
I have been teaching Mandarin Chinese for nearly 5 years. My diverse teaching experience spans various proficiency levels, allowing me to tailor flexible methods to individual needs. Notably, I guided students to win the "Most Creative Award" in the Key Stage 2 category of a UK Chinese speech competition. Additionally, one-fifth of the winners in the Northern Ireland Schools Chinese New Year Poster Competition were my students. The one-to-one adult student under my guidance excelled in the HSK Level 4 exam, attaining high scores. Currently, I teach courses ranging from HSK Level 1 to Level 5, as well as YCT Level 1.
