As a Chinese native speaker, I began to learn German at the age of 18 in China and came to Germany two years later to study. I obtained my Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Germany and worked at the university after that. At the age of 30, I started to pick up my English and finished my Ph.D. in the UK two years ago. Now, I'm working as a senior scientist in north London. I know how hard it is for an adult to learn a completely new language. I also know how important it is to build self-confidence in language learning.
