I spent the majority of my education being taught bilingually in German and English, making me proficient in not only the literature of both languages, but also scientific terms, political topics and much more. Being taught all content in both languages also enables me to translate more accurately than those who are more fluent in one of the two. I have a professional diploma in acting and credits in economics for business law, both of which I obtained in Vienna, Austria, where I spent most of my life.
My lessons are tailor-made for each student and encompass a broad range of topics. I not only help with grammar and translations, but also lead conversation practice. I always use the initial meeting with students to learn what their needs and goals entail. After this, I put together my lesson plan using various teaching resources. I also enjoy using mixed-media in my lessons, which could mean anything from analysing and interpreting art to discussing pop culture in German.
My preferred format is video call. This enables both me and the student to feel more present and connected. It is also useful in helping with pronunciation tips. I have experience in teaching voice classes and therefore have an in-depth knowledge of the human voice and its various articulators. Seeing my student would help me in identifying any room for improvement in pronunciation and targeting that. I am, however, also open to conducting lessons over voice call. I will, where necessary, also assign small tasks for my students to complete throughout the week, some of which could be in email format.
