Having been teaching double/ electric bass musicianship and peripatetic music therapy from the age of 18, I have become very familiar with the in- depth mentoring and tuitional aspects of music through my 14 years of musical tuition. I have mentored in both individual and group teaching settings within a wide range of age groups and abilities, from key-stage1 & 2 pupils and high school pupils, to middle aged amateur musicians being a key member of Tomorrows Warriors development program.
Today, I divide my time in and around London, where I play regularly with Jason Marsalis, Wynton Marsalis, Laura Mvula, Rebecca Ferguson, Mica Paris, Kansas Smitty’s, Jason Rebello and Zhenya Strigalev as well as now being Musical Director and Arranger for the RE:IMAGINE series; a series of sold out shows of severn different 16 piece orchestras paying homage to seminal albums of the past 100 years. I also extensively lead and organise workshops/events by working closely within primary, secondary schools (timetables, budget, liaising) and private companies for leading jazz education company Tomorrow’s Warriors, with 2018 being the start of a UK-wide program delivering a series of workshops to ages 11-18 yrs on six prolific jazz artists.
