Wissam Waked

I have been teaching English language for twenty five years in many private and public schools. In addition, I have been teaching English academic writing, public speaking and business communication in the Lebanese University, Ara. Open University and Modern University for Business and Science for 12 years. Actually, I work on the learner's cognitive abilities by enhancing their critical thing and critical reading skills. This is achieved by integrating the four learning skills: listening, speaking, reading and writing. I am an open-minded person who considers that all learners can attain their goals if the are well-oriented to certain set of objectives. Thus, I can help the learners to work collectively to better their performance, build up their personalities and shape their future that match with their needs and future hopes. Throughout my teaching career I have worked with heterogeneous types of students that belong to different cultural backgrounds and ethnicities and every time I have acquired new ideas and even modified some concepts to meet the students' expectations and help them reach a high proficiency level. Moreover, I have worked on listening activities with students who don't speak English very well since listening helps them to speak; however, some students are afraid to speak especially in public. Therefore, I have known that listening and speaking are a must and the pave the way for reading and writing especially if they are integrated with a bank of vocabulary and the proper use of grammatical rules, sure grammar by default and not just through rules. I wish I would have afforded my audience with the suitable pieces of information.
