As photography is predominantly a practical subject, I always found smaller group sessions or one to one sessions more valuable through all of my education in photography, starting at high school to foundation and higher education level, a total of 6 years formal education. For this reason the sessions will be relaxed and fun with insightful knowledge relating to all things photography.
The session structure caters for all experience levels.
First session will start with:
Introduction to each other, your interests within photography and what you might like to get out of the session/s. A bit about me, my experience and a more in-depth introduction to the session/s.
Introduction to camera technology, basic through to expert camera setting and equipment. What do they do and why are they used?
Examples are: Digital and film cameras, range of lenses, use of tripods, external flash, natural and artificial lighting, understanding all manual camera settings for better results.
Inspiration and research: Different styles and genres of photography, including image and photographer references and basic history of photography.
Post processing: Depending on the experience level, the session will cover basic editing techniques through to in-depth post processing skills, such as HDR and navigating the full adobe suite. We can also cover editing and processing of both digital and film photography. This can also cover professional practice, social media, marketing to pricing your first photo shoot!
