I ran a computer animation business for 25 years. I worked on the James Bond film, Goldeneye and Muppet Treasure Island. I am an artist working on canvas and in CG/Virtual Reality. I have a BA (Hons) in Fine Art . I have much knowledge to share.

I am a bit of a renegade because I believe that much modern art is pretentious and hides a lack of skill.

My lessons will concentrate on the acquisition of basic skills which will serve you well. THEN, if you wish, you can move on to abstraction and it will be all the better for the work you have put in on a representational, figurative level.

In recent years there has been a resurgence in figurative art. This is no bad thing.

I will also give general advice on what mistakes I made and artistic regrets.

One thing I love doing is critiquing students' work. That's always a thrill. I am not a big ego tutor who feels threatened when he encounters superior talent. You rock!!!

This is a great time to be an artist. The great artists of old rocked the boat in their time, upsetting the zeitgeist. We need a new generation of artists who are not afraid to call out the nonsense being ladled onto society at the moment. It's getting worse and worse and artists have a duty not to be hidebound by political correctness but to confront it head on.
