I am a positive optimistic teacher, who always strives for more. Although children may be nervous or apprehensive about particular subjects or topics they struggle with, I want children to feel at ease and that they can always try anything, try their best and that mistakes are okay and can also be learnt from. Rewards and praise are a huge part of education and ensuring children are having fun, laughing often and never giving up. Practice does make for more proficient learners, however the balance between learning and play is essential to ensure children are not overstretched and become bored or fidgety! I have worked as a 1:1 tutor for two infant age individuals with high SEN needs, and learnt through experience children do not all learnt the same and therefore need tailored approaches to teaching subjects and topics to pupils. I have worked with pupils who prefer to learn indoor and outdoor and am flexible to continue this to ensure a child makes progress. I am also very aware children make progress at different rates and subsequently again cannot all be compared and contrasted to one another, only the government expectations set out in the national curriculum. I aim to support and assist in the education alongside schools and am happy to continue with lessons in school as well as homework and home learning. Reading is a huge part of childrens success, and fostering a love for reading is again another focus of mine - encouraging children to gain a love for reading.
