I am a Biological Sciences Undergraduate, studying a range of biological topics, including cellular biology and physiological systems, genetics and evolution, immunology, environmental biology and ecology. My academic background covers all sciences, having studied Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Maths up to A level, achieving 3 A*'s, and an Astophysics/Astrobiology module in University. My main GCSE experience is with Edexcel, though I have a decent understanding of other exam boards as well. My main A Level experience for Biology is with AQA, where learning the exam-board-specific style is very advantageous.
My lessons are very specific to the student's needs, so it would be best if the student came with areas to work on or material to go over (for example, some excercises done in school that the student struggled with). If the student doesn't have any of these, materials can be provided to find what to work on, however this does slow down the process.
In my experience, a combination of explaining concepts and practice questions acheives the best results, so this is the framework my lessons are built off of, with the specifics to be determined depending on the student. I also recommend periodic check-ups to test the student's progress. These generally work best in the form of going through practice tests sat in school or provided by myself, to make sure the student recognises that they are getting something out of our sessions.
Whilst I prefer taking advantage of in-person lessons, I am aware that many students are only able to do online lessons. This works perfectly well
