I use games, films and music to engage students and encourage a deeper love and understanding of English, whatever your age, level or goal.

My teaching style is very much student-centred. I will get to know you and know what works for you and plan our lessons around your needs and goals. I WILL challenge you but I will be there to support you every step of the way.

I am passionate about reading and if you think it's not for you, challenge me to fail to find a book I know you will love.

A good reader becomes a better writer. I'm an experienced writing instructor and I WILL improve your writing - from the simplest sentences to well-structured undergraduate essays and dissertations.

We will focus on all four of the key skills (reading, listening, speaking and writing) but I also love to interrogate tricky grammar questions and if I (rarely) don't know the answer, we will find it together ourselves.

Never stop asking questions!
The greatest skill you can develop is to be a critical thinker and take control of your own learning journey.

My lessons are fast paced but rigorously planned. You will never be bored. I recycle learning continuously and you will be amazed and surprised how quickly you improve.

I have 20 years of experience in a variety of roles but I love that I am still learning. From Primary to Further Education, in settings for students with special needs or additional language learners.

English (Literature and Language) is my main subject but I can also support you with Geography and History. I hope to meet you soon!
