Hello, I'm Wendy. I am a British Mauritian, having lived and taught in the UK for the last 18 years. I have recently relocated to Mauritius and I offer online tuition (French to A level and KS3 Spanish, Italian and English). I hold a masters in Education from the University of Hertfordshire and a degree in joint English and French. I am an outstanding, dedicated and experienced teacher of languages. Further, I create and implement a variety of engaging, fun and progressive resources in my lessons, such as card games, board games, ICT games, video clips, pictograms, songs, music and other original materials. Through rigorous lesson planning and preparation, I ensure that all four skills (listening, speaking, reading and writing) are methodically covered. I am proud that pupils and colleagues have spoken highly of me and of my lessons which are engaging, creative and purposeful. By adapting my lessons to teach children with additional educational requirements, including those with hearing impairments and behavioural difficulties, and also Gifted and Talented children; I also promote independent learning. I possess a solid knowledge of safe-guarding, operational compliance and data tracking. I monitor pupil attainment levels closely and identify those who are underachieving and therefore require intervention, as well as those who are achieving highly and need to be stretched further.
