I'm a professionally qualified native Italian teacher based in the South of Italy. I've always been passionate about languages and language teaching. I'm known to be very friendly, approachable and able to put people at ease around me. I have a foreign language teaching qualification and I have worked as an Italian and English language teacher both in Italy and overseas. I have experience working online and face to face teaching students of different levels, ages and backgrounds. I have also experience working with students with learning disabilities. My teaching approach is based on communication. This means using the target language as much as possible in class to create an immersive experience for the student. The language used as well as the teaching materials will be tailored on the student's needs and level in the language in order to enable them to understand and participate more in class. The content can be negotiated along the way depending on the student's needs and goals. I think it's important to encourage the student throughout the process and sustain his/her motivation to continue to improve. Classes will be centered around the student encouraging him/her to reflect on how the language works to enable them to become independent learners. I always make sure I set homework at the end of each lesson to consolidate the topics that been covered in class. Since language learning also means learning about cultural awareness, I always make sure I incorporate topics related to the cultural aspects of the target Country.
