Hello, I'm Vincent Ng, a passionate mathematician and educator with a diverse background in Actuarial Science and Music. I hold Master's degrees in Mathematics (MPhil), and Actuarial Science (MSc), Postgraduate Certificate in Music Performance, and a Bachelor's degree (BSc (Hons)) in Mathematics with Actuarial Science.
Beyond academia, I have had the opportunity to share my knowledge and passion for mathematics as a tutor in the Maths support service at the University. In this role, I assisted students across the university with various mathematical challenges, helping them grasp complex concepts and excel in their studies.
Music has also been an integral part of my life, and I have honed my skills as a pianist and organist over the years. As a freelance Piano/Organ Teacher, I created customized teaching materials to cater to the unique needs of each student, fostering entertaining and engaging learning environments. Additionally, I served as an Organist at local churches, preparing and accompanying the choir for Sunday Eucharists and other services.
Apart from my academic and musical accomplishments, I am multilingual, being a native speaker of Cantonese, and fluent in English and Mandarin. Moreover, I possess Grade 8 proficiency in Piano, Organ, and music theory, which further enriches my ability to bridge the worlds of mathematics and music.
During my MPhil degree, I have had the opportunity to share my knowledge and passion for mathematics as a tutor in the Maths support service at the University. In this role, I assisted students across the university with various mathematical challenges, helping them grasp complex concepts and excel in their studies.
The lessons usually last for 45-90 mins (depending on difficulties upon agreement).
I primarily teach GCSE (maths, additional maths, and statistics) and A Level (maths, and further maths) students, but I am happy to discuss opportunities for degree's level statistics tuition.
