Hello, nice to meet you. My name is Victoria. The approach I take in my classes is the following:

I am interested in having you express yourself in a foreign language, either English or Spanish. I want to listen to you speak and have you tell me what your expectations of the class are. Then, based on what I hear, I will propose exercises that, among other things, will help you improve your speaking, listening and writing skills. Don't forget that I am here to help you master these skills through carefully selected assignments that I know will be of interest to you. This way, each lesson is not only useful for you, but also fun. To give you some examples, we will do fill-in-the-blank exercises, play games, and read together passages from some of the best literature out there. We will work on your critical thinking and focus on written language, one of the most useful forms of communication.

I would also like to tell you that I like to include a lot of music in my exercises--for example, do you like English music but have trouble understanding the words? Have you heard of idioms? Did you know that some expressions used in the English language do not refer to what their literal translation tells us? This may seem confusing, but it's all a matter of practice.
