Victoria Louise Jukes

I've currently worked in China for almost 5 years, giving me lots of in class experience but also online experiences due to covid lockdowns.

My teaching methods involve a lot of student interaction, I believe you learn by doing, and so my classes are always focused on the students individual needs. I also ensure that students are engaged, and we participate in oral activities independently or choral, ensuring whole sentences are used and sometimes TPR is introduced to help memory.

My classes are fun and interactive, but also professional with a good pace and always include speaking, reading, writing and listening exercises, because I believe a well-rounded knowledge of English is important.

I have a very good reputation as a teacher, where I've also stepped into roles mentoring other teachers and training for phonics and curriculum knowledge. believe sharing knowledge is the most important thing for a teacher and therefore I never gatekeep the things I've learnt over the years.

I hope to continue spreading the joy of English language and showing new generations a way of learning that isn't boring or repetitive, but having fun and trying new things is also important for our own development across every aspect of our education.

I really always look forward to meeting new parents and students from every walk of life and hope to continue building my own knowledge based on these interactions with others. Being adaptable and open to new ideas is so important for me to continue to develop as a teacher.
