Hi! I am a recent Psychology and Criminology graduate (2:1) with an A in A-level English. I am about to start a teaching assistant role in September and have aspirations of becoming an English teacher in secondary education. I don't have any experience teaching (1 year was the minimum I could choose). I have helped to run workshops for the organisation Read with Me in classrooms and school fates and I have volunteered with Read with Me to help primary school children to learn to read. I would love to be able to begin teaching and helping kids, and to share my passion with others.
I've always had a passion for English and books, even writing my own book when I was 8. This passion along with my knowledge of psychology means that I recognise that every person is different and everyone will respond to different ways of learning. I myself have had a brilliant experience with tutoring as I needed a maths tutor in order to achieve the 6 I needed to go to the college of my choice. I didn't understand the way my maths teacher taught but my tutor adapted to my learning style and I was able to get the grade I needed. I would love to make a difference like she did for me.
My lessons will look different for each individual as I will adapt them as I get to know you, your learning style, and, most importantly, what you need from me. I can also help with homework if needed. My price is £15 an hour since I am new to this but I have no desire to change that price as I gain more experience. I offer online lessons at the moment but may able to offer in person lessons at the student's house soon.
