Hello! My name is Victor Raga. I’m 18 years old and studying Computer Science at King’s College University. As a result, I see myself as a smart student and find tutoring to be a fun way to not only you with the subjects your learning, but encourage you to keep on learning through fun lessons.

For starters, it is essential for any tutor to be able to teach visually, and I am no exception: I plan presentations for every lesson, covering what we will be learning, explaining problems step-by-step and including both starter activities and brain flexing challenges.

Also, whenever I can, I like being able to draw and explain my lessons. I may not be the best at it, but it is one of my favourite methods.

Not only that, I see it vital that every problem should be broken down into smaller parts. By understanding and practicing each step of the process, we create progress in learning; like with running, instead of dreading about thinking about running the whole 10 kilometres, focus on being able to run 1 consistently, then 2, then 4.

By treating each problem this way, they become less scary or confusing, which will definitely help you in your learning journey. And when a problem is too large to handle even after breaking it down, we can take breaks, from one day to the other, to refresh our minds, or break them down further. In my experience in life, I have learnt that there is no problem that cannot be solved in this way, and I use it in my everyday life.

And finally, unlike a dull classroom and rigorous silent study (believe me, textbook questions will never be fun), I see the importance in creating a fun and enjoyable working environment – or at least trying not to put you to sleep. In any way, I try to put in as much enthusiasm into my lessons through a funny attitude and interesting questions to really scratch your brain.

Learning does not stop when you finish school – every day you will learn new things and encounter new problems. At the very least, try to find fun in doing them, to be ready for tomorrow’s challenges.
