I am an enthusiastic Early Years and SEN teacher, who has taught in and around Warwickshire since 2002. I am available mornings Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. I have an excellent understanding of phonics teaching in the Early Years as well as of National Curriculum subjects. I know basic Makaton. I hold a child centred teaching style and philosophy. I always aim to motivate and enthuse the children in their learning; stimulating curiosity, encouraging them to explore and never be afraid to try an idea out. Learning is best achieved when children are encouraged to think and talk about their learning including exploring their own learning styles, and when everyone models and promotes effective learning behaviours such as seeking challenges and having an `I can’ attitude. I have a clear vision and determination to ensure the children in my care achieve their very best potential. The learning journey is very much a shared experience, blossoming with enjoyment and enthusiasm. This can be achieved through really knowing the children; their interests, learning styles and developing strong, supportive relationships with children and parents alike. One of the most important things which we can teach children is to love learning. To look at the world and question and work out how to find the answers. As such, I as a teacher, draw on various teaching styles and methods, alongside positive reinforcement, praise and a good understanding of the child and what motivates them.
