I am a highly regarded teaching professional benefiting most recently from a Master of Science Degree (MSc.) in the Psychology & Neuroscience of Mental Health from Kings College London University and an undergraduate degree in Psychology & Social Policy and Administration. My experience and expertise in my subject of passion, psychology spans over ten years as a teacher, tutor and examiner.
As an educator my philosophy is and I quote former US president Theodore Roosevelt who said, “people don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care”. To this end I have always endeavored to facilitate and develop relationships which facilitate the involvement and partnership with family members and creating an environment of trust which empowers, engages, and inspires my students and myself to perform with excellence.
My style is interactive and open, asking questions to identify gaps in learning to fill and interspersed with exam tips and techniques, to help develop mastery and confidence in essential skills such as writing effective answers to the extended answer questions (16 markers).
In addition, to exam skills I help coach students in life skills which include education on nutrition for the brain to enhance learning and memory; best types of exercise and the importance of proper sleep and water intake for heigthened concentration and focus and proper mental health.
I also share my own journey as a student and provide encouragement and motivation for those who lack confidence, feel overwhlemed and anxious and imbue them with deep hope.
