My name is Varun Pathak, I completed Bachelors Honours degree in Sciences in 2005 and Masters degree in Biotechnology in 2007. I was awarded the PhD degree in Life Sciences from University of Ulster in 2015. I have previously worked at University of Ulster, Imperial College, London and currently work as a Research Fellow in diabetic complications at Queens Unversity Belfast.
I have 10 years experience of teaching Biology to GCSE and A-Level pupils. I also teach B.Sc. & M.Sc. Biotechnology programs at Queens University. I have supervised student laboratory practical sessions, mentored students, carried out assessments including marking course work and have also provided career advice to my students.
My teaching philosophy is based upon instilling the excitement about science education. In my teaching, I use a mix of material and example-based methods which are fun and easy for pupils to understand.
