I started tutoring when I was a student in University myself, more than 10 years ago, since my initial plan was to become an English teacher. Plan changed but the passion for helping others learn has never abandoned me. The way I teach is very much in tune with what my students need from me. Not everyone learns the same way or at the same pace, so I aim to adapt my teaching to this. Learning should be a fun and enjoyable experience, even when learning grammar (yes, it is possible)! I tend to divide my classes in small time blocks: going over homework, revising concepts, introducing new concepts, and a bit of conversational language training whenever the student level allows for it. This ensures a consistent learning experience that allows students to progress faster and thus be more motivated to learn. Don't be discouraged by the mention of homework, this can be something as simple as naming in your head all the things you come across while out and about, trying to learn the lyrics to a song in Portuguese, or keeping a diary of new words you learn as you go. Learning a new language is a brave and worthy endeavour, and you should be really proud of every little bit of progress - I know I was, when I first started learning English! All of this to say that class time is yours to do with it what you will, and that I will be here to support in any capacity I can.
