I have experience in tutoring children as young as 5 years old and as old as 12 years old. I have worked with students to help them complete their 11+ exams which they have succeeded in. At the moment I tutor a boy who will soon be starting his GCSE course in french.
I also can work with students who have behaviour difficulties, such as ADHD or development disorders such as autism, since I have managed with children who had these disorders.
The lessons will be different from individual to individual. I will form the lesson based on the need for the student, for example doing their GCSES or simply wanting to speak French, and then find out their strengths and weaknesses. I will challenge the student to their best of their ability but also praise them for their hard work and their improvement.
What is common in all the lessons, are the type of exercises that will be found during our lessons, such as listening exercises, grammar, speaking and pronunciation. I will also read a book with the student if they are already quite high level as this is one of the best ways to learn a language quickly, as well as being exposed to french in general.
One of my priorities is that the student feels comfortable and safe around me. This means I will build a rapport with the student to allow them to be honest with them, which will make sure the student is comfortable with asking questions, making mistakes etc which is essential to learning.
