I recently graduated from Queen Mary University, and I’ve been doing a whole lot of studying for the past few years, so I’m really looking forward to finally getting back to work! I’m only 22 but I have lots of tutoring and teaching experience already! I have been fortunate enough to be a volunteer teacher for young children in two separate occasions, one being in Colombia and the other one in India. After this, I began tutoring kids in my hometown, mainly helping them with school subjects. However, I quickly realised that I was most passionate and specially skilled when teaching languages so that’s why I would like to focus on Spanish tutoring at the moment (although support with other subjects is not off the table!).
As it pertains to my teaching methodology, I usually begin by discussing what particular goals the student might want to achieve and what aspects of the language they are most interested in learning about. This way I can adapt my lessons to the student and help them obtain the results that they want. Then I create a lesson plan tailored to each student and begin the lessons. Throughout the learning process I ensure that students participate, practice and have fun in every lesson. To achieve this, I introduce games, videos, songs, role playing and listening exercises. Additionally, I tend to recommend websites, series, films and music to my students so that they can remain engaged with the language, even during their free time.
Anyways! I don’t want to make this too long and take too much of your time, so please feel free to contact me for more details!
Thank you for your attention and I send my best wishes!
Sincerely,
Val :)
