I have been tutoring since high school for a variety of subjects, but my main expertise for the past few years has been English and Writing. I love tutoring and am happy to be both a source of support and knowledge for my students. I take pride in helping my students not only succeed in their individual assignments but in their overall classes as well. In addition, I am happy to be someone that students can lean on and confide in for both their academic/professional life and I am always happy to guide them in the right direction as they work toward their goals.
With me, no lesson is the same, the way it should be with all tutors, in my opinion. Different students require different methods, and even the same students may require different methods throughout several tutoring sessions, and I take this into account. I typically like to chat with a student before taking them on and doing a session, to be sure I understand their needs/assignment and ensure I can help and that we will be a good fit. Then, we can get right into it in our first session. We can move at whatever pace the student is most comfortable and I use all the resources I can to be sure a student truly understands their content. I want them to leave our sessions having learned at least 1 new thing.
Currently, I specialize in text/chat-based tutoring. This is why I mainly work with college students, or older students in general, who can still benefit greatly from this type of tutoring. I have found younger students tend to do better if video chat is used, however, it is not something I can do at this time. If this works for you, then we may be a good fit.
