Uzma Ismail

I am a Primary School teacher with over 6+ years of experience. I am qualified on the PGCE SCITT 3-7 years Teaching Programme, and have worked in Key Stage Two. I am also trained on the National Tutoring Programme, which I have been actively engaged in for the last 3 years both privately & professionally.

I recently returned from the Middle East ?? after a year sabbatical, where I led Art workshops, for behavioural needs children aged 5 -12, as well as participating in community discussions to cultivate healthy learning environments.

I now come with an intensified focus in leading 1 to 1 child-centred sessions, that are primarily based on creative & individualistic techniques to enable children with different learning styles to excel!

My unique teaching steps:
- I thoroughly enjoy getting to know a child.
- Their likes, dislikes, friendships, confidence levels, what they find boring etc etc
- I then use all that information to holistically create lessons that focus on all the above
- this keeps children excited and eager to "learn", without them realising that they are!
- A great way to introduce and convince a child, that learning IS fun!

I ensure I speak to the parents, and ask what their child finds interesting. Do they enjoy particular subjects, or concepts, or the opposite? What is their focus and attention span like etc. This information allows me to quickly create lesson plans prior to my introduction with the child.

All in all - 1:1 Tutoring is my favourite thing in the world!
