I utilise PowerPoint presentations as the basis of my lessons. This includes diagrams, key points and notes underneath. I talk my student through the topic, explaining why and how things work. I use memory recall at the start of my lessons to enhance the student’s understanding of the previous lesson topic. Between lessons I provide notes and any additional material required depending on their learning needs. I always provide a copy of each lesson to the student. If exams are pending, I organise past paper practice questions for the student to do between our lessons, and mark them within a few days.
For students under 16, I like to arrange progress meetings with parents to discuss their child’s learning needs and identify any areas for improvement.
