In online lessons, we will focus on your output and receiving input all in English. Each lesson is personalized to your needs, be it an examination, interview, or general conversation practice. Activities range from discussions, Q&A, music review, reading, and even active game narrations.
For example, in an interview I will roleplay with you the exact scenarios you will be preparing for. Covering mannerisms, useful expressions, pronunciation, intonation and industry relevant vocabulary practice.
For the game narrations, I will have you play a game on your PC or in a browser and have you go step by step through the thought processes behind each action. This helps students develop their abilities to actually think in English which is key for fluency and proficiency. I perform a similar activity in person with sports like basketball and other classroom-based activities.
A music review would involve listening to a piece of music to identify the language used and the meaning to initiate understanding of input. Then reviewing thr lyrics directly to complete the missing vocabulary and content. After that, listening again to identify pronunciation to further develop lsitening skills and extend the understanding process behind meaning. Ultimately leading the student developing tools necessary to practice their input skills during their own self-study and daily interactions with English.
This general curriculum is of course fully customizable. Each activity can be reshaped and restructured to fit a student's needs to cover their bases and build them up to advanced competencies in input: listening and reading, and output: speaking and writing (thinking).
