My primary motivation for wanting to teach languages stems from the fact that I love helping people to be, see, do and achieve more than they ever thought they could. Languages provide us with another set of eyes with which to view our world, better equip us to engage with people from other cultures, and, thus, make us more open-minded, tolerant and active global citizens.

Practically, I try to adopt a flipped learning approach to instruction where new information is presented to students at home (outside of lesson time). These days it is easy to leverage AI tools to overcome difficulties and aid in acquiring novel concepts. This essentially allows all of lesson time for practice of new concepts, whether they be syntactical, lexical, idiomatic or indeed phonological. Time is thus optimised for real learning.

Personally, I consider myself to be a passionate, confident and considerate teacher. I possess excellent listening and communication skills, am very aware and respectful of other cultures, and thrive most when helping others thrive themselves. Teaching is my passion; I view it as a gift and also a responsibility. I work hard and am committed to providing my students with a quality and memorable education that inspires them to be keen linguists and, more importantly, lifelong learners.
