My philosophy of higher education is that all student, regardless of background, are unique and must have an encouraging educational environment where they can grow intellectually and develop strong critical-thinking skills. It is my desire to create the type of atmosphere in which students can meet their full potential. I will provide a welcoming environment where students are invited to share their opinions and ideas.
I believe that there are five essential elements that are conducive to learning. First, a professor’s function is to act as a guide for all their students. Secondly, students must have access to a variety of learning tools. Third, students should be able to have options and let their interest direct their learning. Next, students need the opportunity to practice communication skills in a safe environment. Lastly, technology must be incorporated into the program of learning. Finally, higher education should be a way to expand student’s world view through interaction and respectful discussions.
