I am a qualified teacher with experience teaching in various school environments with experience in all primary year groups.
I also have experience tutoring catch-up lessons and assisting with the education of young adults in college.
My experience with teaching in schools has given me the experience to adapt to a wide variety of situations, and adapt lessons to suit a wide number of abilities. A skill that would benefit tutoring greatly.
The structure of my Japanese lessons would be taking the different aspects of language learning and focusing on each part separately. Helping to have a learner realise their own strengths and weaknesses in the language. This structure is based almost wholly on my learning experience at SOAS University, where I studied Japanese and Chinese.
Each lesson would have a different focus. For example, a listening lesson could focus on listening to short speeches up to stories or TV shows to see how much can be understood. Or writing lessons focusing on hiragana, katakana and kanji, how to write and recognise them, as well as readings for each.
Of course, on top of this, I would be willing to alter lessons depending on what the learner needed or wanted, focusing more on reading and writing or on speaking. Even teaching Chinese instead of, or as well as, Japanese.
Whether you are looking to learn for professional reasons, for educational or private reasons, or just for fun. I am able to adjust my teaching style to suit any learner's needs.
