Hello, I'm Toma!
I strongly believe that everyone can be good at math, no matter their academic background. Learning maths is all about developing your problem solving skills, not learning complicated equations by heart. Before anything else, my goal is to make you enjoy maths by showing you how fun it can be!
Lessons are between 1 and 2 hours long, with a focus on topics you struggle the most with. The first half of the lesson is dedicated to explaining concepts, using as many visualisations and examples as possible. In the second half, we work through a problem together, discussing every step of the solving process, to build rigor, method, and intuition.
I have been tutoring math for many years, across a wide range of levels. My experience spans from helping high school students master fundamental skills to teaching college students advanced coursework.
For two years, I taught a systems engineering course to college students at Dartmouth College, an Ivy League institution. I focused on offering personalized support, adapting my teaching style to meet each student’s unique learning needs. The priority was to help students understand complex topics by breaking them down into small pieces.
I have also tutored high school students for several years. I teach through example; I like to use clear and visual illustrations to explain concepts in a way that’s easy to understand and remember. I believe that learning through examples and practical applications helps understand fundamental concepts.
I look forward to help you reach your full potential and develop confidence in your math skills! Let's have fun learning maths!
