I have been working as a self-employed/freelance Private Tutor since 2017, during which time I have taught more than 1,850 hours of tutorial sessions to students of hugely varied ages, backgrounds, and abilities. Students have varied from as young as 6 to 50+, from primary school age to those sitting 11+ entrance exams or preparing for private school interviews, to students needing help with GCSEs and A Levels or university applications/personal statements/interview preparation, to university students who want their coursework checked, to child and adult learners of English as a second language. I have taught students in the UK and remotely over Zoom in Dubai, Singapore, China, Hong Kong, and Hungary.
I am an exceptionally organised, dedicated, hardworking individual who puts the needs of my students first. This has yielded excellent results, as I have seen students make wonderful progress from predicted grades up to significantly higher achievements. I tailor each session to each individual depending on their need, ability, and interests, and closely monitor progress as we go along to ensure that the course and tasks are adjusted as appropriate. In my other work I am a proofreader and copyeditor so my feedback on essays, coursework, and other written work is particularly detailed and valuable. My academic background is exemplary, from 11 A* GCSEs and 4 A* A Levels to a First Class degree in German from the University of Oxford and a further Master’s of Philosophy from the University of Cambridge; this places me among the top tutors in the UK in terms of academic qualifications.
