I want to know what YOU WANT to learn about. I will structure tutoring sessions around this. Are there particular topics or ideas you are struggling with? Are there subjects that you've covered that have excited you and you want to know more about? If so, we can work through these together, and I can guide you into understanding them more deeply. Mathematics is a source of endless fascination. And as for physics, what could be more thrilling than to get new insights into how the universe operates at its most fundamental levels? Both subjects can also be complex, subtle and sometimes puzzling, and that presents students and researchers with constant challenges. Whatever you're working towards, and whatever you believe your level of ability to be, I want to work with you to access a more solid understanding.

I have a PhD in mathematical physics from the University of Southampton, and am an active researcher in the subject. (See my profile on ResearchGate and my website, Warped and Broken, if you want to know more about my research.) But perhaps more importantly, I have decades of experience in guiding variety of audiences through complex and abstract subjects. This includes training sessions, assisting with university problems classes, one-to-one tuition, online presentations and written material.

I also have plenty of experience in online video communication, including participating in international conferences, research meetings, social events and interviews. While online tutoring is new to me, I don't believe this will provide any new problems. We might make use of tools such as Math Whiteboard and YouTube videos.

I hold a Disclosure Scotland certificate (equivalent to a basic DBS check).

Tuition available on Zoom or a range of other platforms - for details, ask me.
