Firstly, the boring stuff - I have a First class with Honours MMath masters degree from the University of Nottingham and am currently doing a PhD in pure mathematics at the University of Leicester.
My experiences with teaching have primarly leading undergraduate group sessions at the University of Leicester for two semesters, discussing content and ideas with students, I was also a teaching assistant for a third year undergraduate course at this time. As part of these roles, I had to give students feedback on homework and how to improve - as well as guide them through the next homework's problems.
I also prepared original questions and solutions related to the next homework and presented them during the sessions - so if you want something similar just let me know the topics in advance and I'll do the same for you!
As for how our lessons will go, I will start by asking you where you're struggling and narrow us in to specific topics we can focus on improving your understanding of. If the problem is a particular question on a homework rather than a concept we can focus on that too.
I always try to explain content in a way specifically tailored to how my students learn the best, but I always aim to provide visual, intuitive ways to view whatever you're struggling with in a sort of mini-lecture. I will then guide you through a series of problems related to those ideas - maybe go through a couple myself if you're really stuck!
I will teach the lessons the same whether online or in person, so if you prefer one method you won't be missing out on anything!
