History is often seen as a fact heavy topic but that doesn’t have to be the case!
Through selective and engaging methods the facts that are so essential to the essays are a problem no more. From drawing timelines, to doing quizzes, and even writing profiles of key characters, understanding events and people will be easier than ever. All it takes is to step away from that big text book.
When it comes to the essays, plans are more important than ever. Ensuring that your responses flow smoothly with key relevant points are necessary to getting those top grades.
My lesson plan will cover all of this and will focus on whatever aspect of history you are currently struggling with. It will always start with a simple quiz to get you in the right mindset and also see where and how you can improve. We will then go through and look at the chosen area of the day, going over the key points, and seeing how they all interact with each other to provide that necessary context for the essays.
There will always be time for an essay plan which will come at the end of the session so that we can put what we have learnt into practice. We will also look at the necessary analytic techniques and language to ensure that you reach those top marks.
After the plan, we will finish off with a recap of what’s been learnt and applied, and how we can continue using and developing it to create that necessary broad picture for history.
