My lessons can have different formats depending and the subject and finally the student. Teaching using visual and written recourses as well as practical lessons as well. I will uses many different teaching methods and help the student to understand and then apply what they have learnt.

I pride myself on developing students holistically and aim to create intelligent young individuals that leave school as well rounded, courteous and determined young adults who are not only prepared for the rigours of life but thrive within the challenges and responsibilities they face. I have written a literature review looking at Behaviour management in PE and how it differs from whole school approaches. Finally, I have explored, taught and reviewed different forms of pedagogy, the different types of learning theories throughout my courses and how to apply them in lessons.

I belief in the importance of effective Planning, Assessment for Learning, both summative and formative and Personalised Learning. I am also fascinated by the cognitive science of learning and the theory that underpins effective teaching such as Rosenshines principles of instruction and many of the strategies and techniques discussed in Doug Lemov’s teach like a champion that has already had a positive impact on areas of my delivery such as questioning.

I have excellent communication skills and believe this is essential to the role whether motivating and providing quality direct instruction to students or working with members of staff to achieve goals and collaboratively set future targets. I also aim to be adaptable and resourceful at all times and believe teaching is a profession where these traits are essential.
