I have had previous experience with tutoring when doing small things like helping family members and I’ve had a part time job as a tutor in a local youth centre where I helped children ages 4-16 year olds. The lessons I will be doing will start with a set of questions that I will provide to the students, these will vary in difficulty depending on the child’s knowledge and their age. If there are any questions the child has I will be right there to help them with it and we will work through the questions together. Multiple packs of questions will be provided to the child throughout the session and with each one I will lessen my help and let the child work independently so they can reach their full potential without my support. At the end of each session I will give the child a homework pack for them to work on by themselves and bring back to me for our next session so that I can make sure that they fully understood what I taught them in our previous session. If the child is finding a certain topic particularly difficult we can focus on the topic together until they understand, I will not rush the learning process as it can sometimes be harder for the child to progress if they are rushed. I will also inform the child’s parents of what they will be learning so the child can get help at home with their homework if they really need it.
