Hi! My name is Tirza, an ongoing third year law undergraduate at the University of Cambridge. I teach English and History from primary to A-level. I can also support your child with university applications, particularly if they wish to apply to Oxbridge. The support would include personal statement drafting, mock interviews and admission exams. As I have done both the LNAT and the Cambridge Law Test, I am also more than willing to guide students through this process too.
I also offer piano lessons from beginner (Grade 1) to immediate, alongside music theory aswell, with the students entering ABRSM exams if they wish to.
My teaching style varies as it is tailored the each individual student. Alongside my tutoring, the students will receive A* class notes, including past marked essays/coursework and notes that I made during my GCSEs/A-Levels (flashcards, mindmaps, quote banks). I think it’s very important to continually track progress and so I tend to set occasional assessments so that future lessons can focus on the student’s weaker areas. It also allows the parent(s) and student to see how far they have improved since the start. I also provide students with tutoring packs including a progress book, stickers (depending by on age or course!) in a folder in which they can place their homework and/or study materials for the week in.
Above all, I strive to encourage my students to learn to love learning by ensuring that my lessons are fun, dynamic but also effective in boosting grades and academic confidence.
